What is a life transition and legacy support specialist?
A life transition and legacy support specialist provides non-clinical support to individuals and families navigating significant life moments such as pregnancy, loss, serious illness, end-of-life, and grief. This work is informed by training and experience across multiple disciplines, including birth and end-of-life doula care, perinatal loss support, hypnotherapy, and holistic practices. It brings together emotional support, practical guidance, presence, and planning to help people move through complex transitions with greater clarity and steadiness.
Do you support families as well as individuals?
Yes. Support is available for both individuals and families. This includes helping families navigate communication, decisions, emotional dynamics, and shared experiences during significant transitions.
What types of situations do you support?
Support is available for a range of life transitions, including pre-planning, pregnancy and birth, pregnancy loss, grief and bereavement, serious illness, end-of-life, after-death support, digital and document organization, legacy planning, and more.
What is end-of-life support and what does it include?
End-of-life support may include presence, guidance, vigil sitting, emotional support, environment setting, and support for both the individual and their family during active dying and the time surrounding it.
Do you offer support after a death has occurred?
Yes. Support can begin or continue after death, including pregnancy or infant loss. Support can include guidance, presence, assistance with next steps, and creating space for processing and honoring what has occurred.
What is vigil sitting and environment setting?
Vigil sitting involves being present during active dying, offering calm, steady support. Environment setting may include creating a peaceful, meaningful space through lighting, sound, and intentional atmosphere.
When should I reach out for support?
You can reach out at any stage, whether you are planning ahead, currently navigating a transition, or processing something that has already happened. Support is available before, during, and after major life events.
Do you offer virtual support or is this in-person only?
Both options are available. Support can be provided virtually or in person, depending on your location, needs, and the type of support requested. Many forms of guidance, emotional support, and planning can be effectively offered virtually.
Do you provide legal, medical, or therapeutic advice?
No. Services are non-clinical and non-legal. Guidance may be provided to help you understand options and organize information, but medical, legal, and therapeutic decisions remain with licensed professionals.
